FOR TROOP LEADERS
Outstanding Leader Award, for someone
who:
- is a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer
- has been a troop leader for at least
one full Girl Scout membership year (a membership year is Oct.
1-Sept. 30)
- has completed the appropriate council
training and has demonstrated competence in girl-adult partnership,
communication, membership development, pluralism, and program
delivery
- has demonstrated outstanding performance
as a leader and whose work with girls has exceeded expectations

Green Angel Award, for
someone who:
- has been a registered Girl Scout for
at least 3 full Girl Scout membership years (a membership year
is Oct. 1-Sept. 30)
- has received the Outstanding Leader
Award
- has continually performed as an outstanding
leader
- has continually participated in training
(beyond the required basic two courses*)
- has continually demonstrated girl leadership
and girl planning in troop activities

Pathlighter Award, for someone who:
- has served continuously as a registered troop leader or assistant leader for
a minimum of seven (7) full membership years**
- has continuously demonstrated outstanding leadership
- has demonstrated use of the girl/adult partnership in Girl Scouting
- has participated in advanced training beyond the basic courses
- has participated with the troop in service unit events and activities
- has previously received the Outstanding Leader Award and the Green Angel Award
** The Girl Scout membership year runs from October 1 through September 30.

FOR SERVICE UNIT
TEAM MEMBERS AND OTHER REGISTERED ADULTS. . .
Outstanding Volunteer Award, for someone
who:
- is a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer
and is serving in a capacity other than a troop leader
- has received appropriate training for
the position held, or has demonstrated competence for the job,
or both
- has given service beyond the expectations
of the position, for example:
- has managed a successful event on
three or more occasions
- has run day camp so successfully
that participation has increased over a two-year period
- has given outstanding management
service
- has been an outstanding liaison for
girls registering individually
- has long tenure with the service
unit, showing a consistently high level of performance
- has helped retain or increase girl
membership in the service unit/geographic area
- has retained or increased under-represented adults and girls
in areas identified in the Council Performance Assessment

Appreciation Pin*,
for someone who:
- is a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer
or staff member
- has demonstrated consistent leadership
qualities in position held
- has given outstanding service above
and beyond the expectations for position held and contributed
to the council's goals and objectives, for example:
- has managed a service unit successfully
for at least three (3) full Girl Scout membership years and
maintained or recruited a full service unit team
- has served on the service unit team
in one or more positions for several years and given outstanding
service consistently
- has served as a Family Partnership Coordinator
in a way that has increased the service unit Family Partnership participation
each year
- has served as a team leader in the Equestrian Program for
at least three (3) full Girl Scout membership years and has
helped retain older girls in Girl Scouting
*The Appreciation Pin is reviewed and approved
by the Board Awards Committee; however, the pin may be presented
either at a local ceremony or at the council's Recognition Luncheon.

The Heart of Gold Award*, for someone who:
- is a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer
- has demonstrated outstanding service in the position(s) held
- participated in updated orientation or training at least every three (3) years
- made a positive impact on girl and adult membership
- previously received the Outstanding Volunteer Award and the
Appreciation Pin
- has delivered outstanding service for at least five (5) full membership
years to at least one service unit or program delivery audience,
for example:
- has served as a troop/group organizer for multiple years, consistently organizing
troops and/or finding openings to place all interested girls
- has served as a program consultant, helping leaders develop and implement
meaningful programs for girls
- has served as a day-twilight camp administrative staff member, providing
opportunities for older girls to demonstrate leadership skills
- has served in a variety of service unit positions, helping the service unit meet
or exceed membership goals for girls and adults
- has served as a group leader for outreach programs offered to girls in
underserved populations

someone who:
- is a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer
or staff member
- has given outstanding service beyond
the local level to a broad segment of the council and has contributed
to council goals and objectives, for example:
- A volunteer or staff person who has
served on a council committee in a leadership role
- A volunteer or staff person who has
successfully chaired council-wide events
- A volunteer who has coordinated special
programs for girls that help in council retention
- An association chair who has motivated
volunteers resulting in broad delegate involvement in the council's
democratic process.

- The director of a successful council
or regional wider opportunity that results in increased extension
and retention of older girls and significant positive publicity
for the council
- An adult who establishes a successful
collaboration with a local museum or science center that results
in increased program opportunities for girls from all parts of
the council
- A person who plays a policy decision-making
role at a consistently high level and attracts broad participation
in policy-influencing through the democratic process

Thanks Badge II,
for someone who:
- is a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer
or staff member and has received the Thanks Badge
- has given service that is truly outstanding,
continuing to perform at the same high level for an extended period
of time, increasing the nominee's sphere of influence, or using
the nominee's skills and talents to move into another field of
endeavor
- benefits the total council or the entire
Girl Scout organization, and is so significantly above and beyond
the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate
- Additionally, this award might acknowledge
outstanding performance that surpasses the earlier achievement,
for example:
- A council trainer who, after directing
council wide training events, successfully implements a statewide
or regional training event
- A board member whose continuous
strong leadership in fund development has resulted in greater
financial stability for the council
- An administrative volunteer who
initiates a volunteer support system that successfully retains
members in the council and that has been replicated in other
councils
- The chair of a strategic planning
task group whose leadership inspires a pluralistic, visionary
plan

FOR SERVICE UNITS.

The President's Award, for those service
units in which team members:
- are registered adult Girl Scout volunteers
- have all completed appropriate training
at least every three (3) years
- delivered the Girl Scout program effectively
to the area, resulting in the continuity of 75% of the troops/groups
or of the retention of troop/group leadership
- reached or surpassed the overall girl
membership goal for the area as agreed upon by the team and council
- reflect the diversity of the geographic
area or service unit
- cultivate contacts in the community,
such as through scheduled talks to civic groups, sponsorship agreements,
or community profile updates, to retain and increase girl and
adult membership
- submit council-required reports on
time
- maintain ongoing communications with
each troop/group and with leaders utilizing a variety of methods
(meetings, mail, telephone) that serve the needs of area adults
- maintain ongoing communication with
girls registered individually in the area
- encourage adult participation in fund
development and has increased family partnership support to the council
